In ether way you can become rich and powerful, this is your fate in the Caribbean.
Regardless of the role you play there are a few basic principles you will need to follow.

The first view shows you your own bay.
The second is the view of the Caribbean Sea.
It opens when your vessel goes to sea.

Fully equipped start sloop
20,000 gold
1,000 + units of most commodities
15 Workers

The 10 Golden Rules

1. Become familiar with your home bay.
By wisely setting up your bay, it will provide you with almost all the necessary raw materials.
What you have to produce and not fully utilize, you can sell on the market for gold to buy other goods that you require.
2. Use the production houses in your bay.
Decide on the raw materials that you want to produce and construct the corresponding production houses, in your bay!
The bay has space for 10 buildings. You start with the 3 most important:
A farm for the production of food.
A lumberyard for harvesting wood
A quarry, for mining stone.
If you have a production house that you do not need, you can always rip it down and replace it with a different building.
Of course at the cost of some material loss, so consider carefully.
3 Care for your workers.
Note: Each production will cost you your food for workers.
Always be sure you have enough food! At best, you produce daily.
Besides, you can farm have up to 2 farms to harvest food.
4. Keep an eye on your inventory and your gold.
If your gold reserves are scarce, you have several options. You can produce commodities and sell on the market. You can accept missions from your agent or you plunder gold, goods and valuable items in battles.
5. Train your skills.
Train skills as often as possible it is the capabilities (skills) of your character.

Here you form the course for your career.

As a pirate you will tend navigation and battle training, as a manufacturer of ships or guns rather train the necessary production skills.
6. Ask your agent for missions.
By doing missions you will not only learn the ropes of seamanship and how to navigate your ship but also earn gold, commodities or rare items.

Especially in the early stages, you can help supplement your war chest via missions.
7. Your opponents.
Another possibility to obtain gold and commodities: pirates go on the plunder.

Choose your opponents at the beginning by ship size. To make sure you not outgunned, take on ship classes like that of your own or smaller.

You can always attack computer-generated ships - you can find them in sufficient number on the high seas and you recognize them as red dots on the small mini-map.

Of course, you can also attack ships of other players - but new player protection is active for the first 24 hours playing time. Only after the first 24 hours can you attack and be attacked by players at sea.
8. Keep your ships well maintained and arrange for adequate armament.
You to start on a small sloop (start-sloop), it is equipped with small cannons and matching balls.
If your ship is sunk, the ship is automatically transferred to your home port. Before you set sail again you need to restore and equip your ship for the fight.
Be sure to equip with as many repair kits as possible because you can use them during a sea battle repeatedly to make repairs.
9. Trade on the market.
If you produce every day, you collect more commodities than you may need.

They can be sold on the market for gold.

If you do not want to wait until another player purchases for the requested price, you can simply sell to the computer market.

Just choose a price per unit that is 1 gold below the minimum price and you can immediately sell the goods..
10. Find friends, forge alliances.
This golden rule is a "can", not a "must".
Nothing speaks against trying to conquer the Caribbean as a loner.
However, it would be far easier with friends to help you.
Or even an entire alliance, working together towards this goal.
